Prototype & Storyboard
Hello everyone!
This week, there were three main tasks: storyboard for Odyssey, build prototypes, and finally, make two peer feedback reports.
I started by making the storyboard, where I represented a concrete scenario of a gameplay action. This action is found in level 1 of the Odyssey and shows an interaction between the ship and a piece of space object. As such, it is possible to observe, in the following figure, that when the player picks up some debris from a space station, it turns into fuel, which is essential for navigation in space and to allow the player to advance to the Earth space station.
Then I worked on the prototype, where the player's movement was implemented and some assets were made, such as the space ship, Earth's space station, Earth, Sun and some asteroids. I also built some visual aspects like a health bar and bars of applied forces.
Finally, I tested the prototypes from two teams and then I created reports, where I could write about the purpose of their prototypes, give feedback and mention games that could be a reference for them.
